Oasthouse Luxury in the Country | Kent Show Home

Updated: Apr 11, 2018

This beautiful Kent show home was a dream to work on. From the stunning oasthouse inspired exterior to the incredible space inside, it was a slice of luxury in the Kent countryside. The small development was aimed at affluent families, looking to relocate to a beautiful rural home.

The Layout

One of the most striking features of this four bedroom home was the huge open plan living space downstairs. Featuring two patio doors, it was flooded with natural light. The room included a living space, a dining area and a large kitchen, complete with a large worktop island. From the ceiling spotlights to the wooden floors, it was a modern space that still managed to have lots of character. The rooms included four double bedrooms, as well as an office space.

The Brief

Targeted towards affluent families, our client wanted the show home to be luxurious while still feeling comfortable and homely. As the house had lots of natural wood throughout, the client wanted to keep the colours warm to complement these materials.

The Interior Design

Downstairs we used a colour palette of creams, grey and blue, keeping it light and airy inside. We used minimal patterns, opting instead for a variety of textures and finishes to give the property a modern but comfortable, homely feel. We used black high gloss furniture in the living room, complemented by an abstract, black floral rug. Upstairs, we used mirrored furniture in the bedrooms. This emphasised the light in these large rooms, and allowed us to use more decorative pattern without it being overbearing.
