Mustard & Grey Interior - 3 Bed Show Home

Updated: Feb 4, 2019

Part of the development that also included the luxury Oasthouse show home, this show home was in a scenic rural location. With three bedrooms, it was a beautifully designed house that fit in perfectly with the Kent countryside. The layout of this property was different to its sister 4 bedroom show home, so we incorporated a different design here.

The Layout

Downstairs featured a large living room, with windows leading out onto the garden. Unlike the 4 bedroom property, the living area wasn’t open plan, giving it a cosy, homely feel. The generous proportions still allowed us to put a dining table and chairs in here though. Upstairs boasted two double bedrooms and a single, of which the latter would work perfectly as a child’s room or home office. The integrated kitchen was spacious, with a stylish range cooker and white gloss units.

The Brief

The show home was targeted towards young families looking to relocate out of the city. Our client wanted it to have a modern and on trend interior that was also classic in feel. The single room was to be dressed as a child’s room with a fun theme.

The Interior Design

The walls were kept a clean magnolia, allowing us to use accent colour in the soft furnishings, accessories and wall art. Dark grey was highlighted with pops of mustard yellow, which complemented the warm wooden furniture and flooring. The corner sofa made a statement piece in the living room, which we paired with a masculine geometric rug. Bright yellow and teal cushions gave the finishing touch. We kept the bedrooms simple with block colour feature walls, and used contrasting bedding to add texture to the room. The child’s bedroom we dressed in a fun Minion’s theme, complete with a fun wall sticker.
