It's never a bad thing when your latest job takes you to the English Riviera! We recently designed and installed a show home in Torquay, Devon, for a private development of luxury holiday apartments. Comprising of 2 and 3 bedroom flats with ocean views, the interiors had to be just as stunning as the location.
The show home featured 2 bedrooms, with an open plan living area/kitchen and large balcony overlooking the sea. The integrated kitchen had white gloss units that fitted well with the modern architecture of the building. The bedrooms were both double, and featured floor to ceiling windows that overlooked the waterfront.
The properties were an investment opportunity to let out as holiday apartments. Because of this, our client wanted the interior design to be sleek, modern and luxurious. Being in such a location, a coastal theme was the most fitting, but it was important to keep this contemporary.
The Interior Design
We opted for a colour scheme of blues and whites, with statement furniture and clean lines to keep it looking fresh. Driftwood ran throughout the property, including a stunning white washed driftwood and glass dining table. Abstract patterns and minimalist soft furnishing prevented the space from feeling too cluttered, and helped to maximise all the natural light that the property benefitted from. The balcony was a large space that we divided up into two seating areas. Lush greenery added depth, while a rattan egg chair added height and interest to the area. With views like this, I'm sure it won't be long before these apartments get snapped up!
